I work under the BACP ethical framework. You can read here the values and ethics that my counselling practice embodies.
Attending the sessions.
It can feel daunting to take the leap into counselling. I would encourage you if it feels the right thing to do for you. Once you have taken that step you will realise that sharing your feelings in a safe therapeutic space in a trusting relationship can be incredibly beneficial. The therapeutic space will be yours and you take the lead and are free to speak about whatever you choose.
Covid 19 safety and procedures.
Anyone attending a face to face session will be asked to wear a face mask. The doors and windows of the room will be kept open to ensure ventilation. Clients are asked to bring their own tissues and hand sanitiser. The chairs and door handles will be wiped with antibacterial wipes before and after your session. The fabric on the chairs will be sprayed with a disinfectant spray and coverings will be washed before and after your session. The toilet facilities are unavailable at this time.
All sessions are confidential unless you disclose that you are of serious risk to yourself or others or if a child is being harmed. This will always be discussed with you. I am legally bound to break confidentiality if you disclose money laundering or terrorism.
I do not take notes during the sessions but contracts, names and addresses are kept in a locked cabinet on the premises.
The sessions are 50 minutes long and the treatment will last for as long as feels right for you. We will review sessions every 6 weeks.
Any cancellations must be made with at least 24 hours notice.
Fees are £40 per session via zoom and £45 face to face and are paid through BACS 24 hours before the session to secure the booking.
You may view and download a copy of the contract from the contract page.
A contract will also be given during the first session.
